CRYSIS 1

Crytek & Electronic Arts UK - PC

ART DIRECTION & CONCEPT DESIGN

In my second year at EA's UK studio I served as a central studio art director, working on a number of often overlapping games in various stages of production. One of those was Crysis, for which I was brought in by EA's European Publishing team to help revise and refine the final designs of some the game's key characters, creatures and environments, already well into development by the talented team at Crytek, in Frankfurt, Germany.

With the contributions of several new concept artists I hired in - as well as Crytek's art team and EAP's producers, I led the final visual design work on the game's pivotal NanoSuit and several forms of bio-mechanical flying aliens, while lending guidance on the redesign of the cavernous interior of the alien spacecraft.

Crysis 1 went on to become an award-winning smash hit, spawning a successful franchise that has built on the rich world-building, immersive quality and game-play of the original.
